إن العلوم الشرعية كثيرة ومتنوعة، وعلم أصول الفقه في الدرجة العليا، والمرتبة العظمى من تلك العلوم؛ حيث اجتمع فيه الرأي والشرع، واصطحب فيه العقل والسمع وهو قاعدة الأحكام الشرعية، وأساس الفتاوي الفرعية التي بها صلاح المكلفين معاشاً ومعاداً.
ولقد صنف في أصول الفقه مصنفات عديدة منها ما هو مبسوط، ومنها ما هو مختصر، وثالث بينهما؛ ومن هذه المصنفات كتاب "روضة الناظر وجنة المناظر" لموفق الدين: عبد الله بن أحمد بن محمد بن قدامة المقدسي.
ولأهمية هذا الكتاب، اعتنى بتحقيقه الدكتور عبد الكريم النملة، وقد قام بالتقديم له والتعليق قلبه، وتحقيقه تحقيقاً علمياً على أصول المخطوطة، لتسهل الإستفادة منه، وفهمه فهماً دقيقاً.
