في الخرافات الشائعة أنه إذ أصلحت نقطة ضعف في الإنسان فيصبح الإنسان أقوى، كما أنه إذا أصلحت ضعفاً في مؤسسة فستصبح هذه المؤسسة أحسن. إن هذا الافتراض خاطئ في صلاح الضعف يجعل الإنسان أو المؤسسة في موضع متوسط أو عادي ليس بأحسن ولا أقوى.
