من نعم الله تعالى على الناس أن هداهم الى طريقه, وأوضح لهم عن سبيله, ولم يتركهم لنزعات عقولهم, ونزعات نفوسهم, تجمح بهم شطحات العقول. وتكبوا بهم أهواء النفوس. فلا يهتدون الى قصد, ولا يأوون الى رشد، أو يضربون في الأرض بغير هدىً ولا كتاب منير. ولكن الحق سبحانه وتعالى رحمة بعباده, وإقامة للحجة على خلقه, بعث في كل أمة رسولاً منهم يتلو عليهم آياته, ويبلغهم رسالات ربهم, ويأمرهم بالمعروف وينهاهم عن المنكر, ويحل لهم الطيبات, ويحرم عليهم الخبائث. ويهديهم بإذن ربهم الى صراط مستقيم. وختم الرسالات برسالة محمد سيدنا محمد الصادق الأمين. وجعل القرآن الكريم على الكتب السابقة مهيمناً, ولما فيها من الحق مصدقاً, ومبيناً ما دخل في كتب السابقين من تحريف وتزييف. والقرآن يفصّل الحق, ويخبر أخبار الصدق عن الأمم الخوالي. وما حل بها وحدث لها. فجاء هذا الكتاب الذي يشحذ العقول, وتتفتح له الآذان والقلوب, ويهدي التائه الحيران, وينبؤ بما حدث لمن سبقه من الأنام, لأن في الذكر الحكيم لأولي الألباب عبرة. إن قصص الأنبياء والسابقين عبرة لأولي الألباب، وإن القرآن الكريم بقصصه يرفع ذكر الأنبياء، ويطهر ساحتهم، ويبين زيف المزيفين، وتأويل الجاهلين. ويمتاز هذا الكتاب بسرد الأخبار، ونقدها نقداً علمياً. فهو موسوعة كبيرة، إذ تناول الجوانب الدقيقة من حياة الرسل الكرام، ودعوتهم الى الله تعالى، ورسالتهم لهداية الناس، وأثرهم العظيم في النصح والإرشاد والإصلاح.
الدمشقي: هو الإمام أبو الفداء عماد الدين إسماعيل بن عمر بن كثير القرشي البصروي الأصل, الدمشقي المنشأ والتربية والتعليم. ولد بمجدل القرية من أعمال بصرى سنة (701)هجرية, وكان أبوه شهاب الدين أبو حفص عمر بن كثير خطيب قريته, مات أبوه في الرابعة من عمره, ورباه
