نبيل راغب هو ناقد وكاتب ومفكر وأديب مصري معاصر من مواليد طنطا عام 1940. حصل على ليسانس الآداب من كلية الآداب جامعة القاهرة قسم الأدب الإنجليزى وشهادة الدكتوراه من جامعتى القاهرة ولانكستر بإنجلترا.عمل كأستاذ ورئيس لقسم النقد الفنى بالمعهد العالى للنقد الفنى بأكاديمية الفنون بالهرم ثم عميدا للمعهد لثلاث فترات متتالية.كما عمل كمستشار لوزير الثقافة في مصر من عام 1969 إلى 1973.بعد ذلك عمل كمستشار للرئيس الراحل محمد أنور السادات من 1975 إلى 1981. عمل كأستاذ زائر بجامعة إكسيتر بإنجلترا من عام 1982 إلى 1986. ألف 28 رواية تحول بعضها إلى أفلام سنيمائية مثل جبروت امرأة وخيوط العنكبوت وغرام الأفاعى ومسلسل برج الأكابر للتلفزيون المصري.وله أكثر من مائة مؤلف في الدراسات النقدية والسياسية والفلسفية والثقافية والحضارية.كما شارك في العديد من المؤتمرات والندوات والمهرجانات الفنية والسياسية العربية والدولية.و يعمل الآن كأستاذ للنقد الفنى في المعهد العالى للنقد الفنى وكلية الإعلام بجامعة مصر للعلوم والتكنولوجيا.
Book Description
هذه هي الطبعة الثالثة لهذا الكتاب، وهي تصدر كطبعة تذكارية بمناسبة فوز نجيب محفوظ بجائزة نوبل للأدب لعام 1988م، وهذا الكتاب له دلالة خاصة بالنسبة لنجيب محفوظ إذ أنه أول كتاب يصدر عنه، وكان ذلك في أغسطس 1966م، أما ما كتب قبل ذلك فكان مجرد مقالات في الصحف ودراسات في المجلات الثقافية.
وهي مقالات ودراسات ركزت على المضمون الاجتماعي عند نجيب محفوظ لدرجة أن بعضها وصفة بأنه (كاتب البرجوازية الصغيرة) والبعض الآخر اعتبره روائى المسح الاجتماعي) أو (قاص الرواية التسجيلية والفوتوغرافية).
من هنا كان السبب في صدور هذا الكتاب ليثبت أن ما سوف يتبقى من نجيب محفوظ للتاريخ هو دوره وإنجازه كفنان روائي من الطراز الأول، ولذلك ركزت هذه الدراسة النقدية على تحليل قضية الشكل الفني عند نجيب محفوظ، وبعدها تتابعت الدراسات التي تناولت بالتحليل الجوانب الأخرى لهذا الإنجاز الفني الأصيل الذي أكدته في النهاية لجنة منح جائزة نوبل للأدب بعد أكثر من عشرين عاماً في صدور هذا الكتاب لأول مرة.
