في عالم أختلطت فيه الأفكار وتعددت، كثرت المذاهب السياسية والدينية حيث أصبح من الصعب علي المرء أن يحكم علي أي منها، في هذا العالم عندما يصدر كتاب يوضح ما إلتبس ويشرح ما غمض فهو إضافة للمكتبة العربية والإسلامية ليس مرحب بها فحسب، إنما متشوق إليها وإلي دورها في الحياة الفكرية والثقافية، وهذا هو ما ينطبق علي الكتاب الذي بين يدينا لمؤلفه الإستاذ "محمد الحسن" حينما أختار أن يكون كتابة خريطة توضيحية للمذاهب والأفكار المعاصرة ومعها عرض التصور الإسلامي لها، وهو يعرض هذه الأفكار والمذاهب دون أن يحكم عليها، ولا يقدم كتاباً ارتضي لنفسه أن يحكم علي هذا وذاك، إنما عرض الأفكار عرضاً موضوعياً صادقاً ثم أردفها وجمع معها التصور الإسلامي في كل منها لمن أراد أن يعرف حكم الدين الإسلامي وتصوره فيها، وهو عمل جاء متوازيناً في هذا، فلم يطول فيصبح مجلدات، ولم يختصر فيصبح مبتوراً معيباً، إنما جمع فأوعي وأختصر فلم يخل، وشرح ولم يمل.
وقد بدأت أبواب الكتاب بتمهيد لعرض مسألة مشروعية الأحزاب السياسية و العقدية والتحالفات السياسية ثم تلاه الباب الأول عن الحركات الإسلامية معتدلها ومتطرفها، تبعه الباب الثاني لعرض الأفكار التي تم استيرادها من الخارج مثل الماركسية والرأسمالية والعلمانية ومن ثم تعرض لفكرة فصل الدين عن الدولة وتاريخها مع كافة الأديان السماوية، شمل ذلك كلمات وأراء لبعض الشخصيات الهامة في الحياة الدينية والفكرية مثل الشيخ محمد الغزالي ويوسف القرضاوي والدكتور فؤاد زكريا.
أما الباب الثالث والأخير فقد جاء في التنظيمات العملية غير الإسلامية مثل الماسيونية والصهيونية والبابية والقاديانية، وهو في ذلك يمزج دون خلط التاريخ بالسياسية بالدين، مكوناً عملاً قيماً موضوعياً جديراً بأن يقرأ سواء أتفق معه أو أختلف.
