هذا الكتاب "تنظيم وثائق المشاريع بمساعدة إكسل" هو الفصل الثاني من كتاب "الإكسل للمهندسين" الذي قارب الألف صفحة. وقد تم تقسيم موضوعات كتاب "الإكسل للمهندسين" إلى أربعة أجزاء تسهيلاً للقارئ وتخفيفاً للعبء المادي.
ويعتبر هذا الجزء مخصصاً للتدريبات على استخدام برنامج إكسل في مجال تنظيم الوثائق المختلفة التي كثيراً ما نتداولها في المشاريع الهندسية. وبما أن الوثائق الهندسية بسيطة التنظيم فإن أكثر ما نحتاجه فيها هو عمليات التنسيق والإخراج والصيغ البسيطة. ولذلك يمكن القول بأن هذا الكتاب قد خصص للتدريب على استخدام برنامج إكسل من حيث مجمل إمكانياته الفنية, باستثناء العلاقات والمعادلات والصيغ الرياضية المعقدة نسبياً.
يتوجه الكتاب إلى المتعاملين بمستوى مبتدئ أو متوسط. تم إدراج التعليمات باللغتين العربية والإنكليزية. وأرفق معجم خاص بمصطلحات برنامج إكسل في نهاية الكتاب. يعطي الكتاب امثلة تفصيلية توضح الفكرة قيد البحث. تناول المعلومات التي تكثر الحاجة إليها في إنجاز الوثائق الهندسية. لا يرفق الكتاب بدسك لحث القارئ على التطبيق العملي وصناعة البرناج الذي يشاء. لا يعلق الكتاب برقم إصدار أو نسخة Version معينة لبرنامج إكسل, كي يتمكن القارئ التعامل مع أي إصدار. نسخة البرنامج إكسل97 هي النسخة التدريبية المرافقة عند شرح الفقرات المختلفة.
ويعالج الكتاب ما يلي: تنظيم جداول تحليل الكميات و الأسعار, تنظيم الكشوف المالية في المشاريع, حساب الكميات و تنظيم دفاتر المساحة, تنظيم وثائق المواد والمستودعات, تنظيم الوثائق المالية, تنظيم بعض الوثائق الفنية, وثائق و مهام أخرى, أهم الدوال الأكثر استخداماً في الأعمال الهندسية, معجم مصطلحات البرنامج حسب النسخة المعربة.
