وقد حرفت كثير من الديانات على يد البشر، وتم الإحداث فيها بما هو جديد وغريب عن المألوف من قبل مؤسسي التحريف ليجلبوا أنظار من حولهم من العامة كما حدث في قصة العجل الذي اختلقه السامري في بني اسرائيل بعد غياب رسول الله موسى عليه السلام أياماً عن قومه واستخلاف أخاه هارون، وكذلك ما حصل في العقيدة السيخيسة في الهند حيث اقتبس مؤسسها ما طاب له من الديانة الهندوسية والديانات السماوية الثلاث (الإسلام والمسيحية واليهودية) وأضاف ما أضاف لهذه العقيدة من خياله الخصب واخترع عقيدة جديدة يصل عدد متبعيها الى العشرين مليونا، وهذا ما يفسر تشابه الأساطير لدى شعوب العالم كون الله عز وجل قد أرسل آلاف الأنبياء عن أقوامهم التحريف والتضليل والزيادة والنقصان واختلاف الخيال الخصب للحكايات والأساطير الضالة عن المنطق السليم والعقل القويم.
وتجد في هذه الموسوعة الميسرة عن أساطير الشعوب ما يذهل العقل من خرافات خارجة عن المألوف مستوحاة من البيئات الحضارية المختلفة والمتنوعة في زمانها ومكانها.
