ميدان العقل الإيماني محصور في المسالك التي يسلكها المؤمنون في تعاطيهم لإيمانهم وإنقاذ معتقداتهم وقناعاتهم.
هنا يبدو قبول او رفض الآخر في جانبه العملي، إذ إن العقائد بعامة لا تقبل بعضها، فلو كانت عقيدة ما تقبل غيرها بتمامها وكليتها ولا تعيب منها شيئاً، لوجب أن تكونا عقيدة واحدة، وهنا نعود للتذكير بأن الإختلاف بين عقيدة وأخرى أو بين إيمان مؤمن وإيمان مؤمن آخر، هو في بعض الجزئيات، وليس في كلية العقيدة، لكن العقيدة تُقُبَلُ كليها بجزئياتها جميعاً أو تُرفَض برفض أية جزء منها.
فالجزئيات في العقائد تبدو مثل الأساسيات، ويبدو هذا في أشكال إيمان الفِرَق والمذاهب ضمن الدين الواحد وليست المشكلة في نفي المشترك، فهذا لا يتم نفيه عادة، إنما في نفي المختلف الذي صنع الفرقة بين الأطراف.
إنها أزمة ممتدة، تفرض نفسها على الساحة الإسلامية، بل والعالمية، ولا تؤول إلى الإنفراج، أو لا تأذن بالتفكك، فصلابتها تزداد مع التراخي الذي تحدثه الحضارة عند الشعوب، وكأنها تسير عكس التاريخ.
أما ما يغذي هذه التوترات فهو السياسات وما يستتبعها من إنخراط الجهات المؤدلجة، والتي تستثار من قبل السياسيين والمصالح والإصطفافات.
