الأستاذ الدكتور ياسين خليل هو أكاديمي وإداري وسياسي عراقي ذو توجه قومي اشتراكي، ولد في بغداد سنة 1934 وتوفي في 3 أيار 1986.
نشاطه العلمي
حصل على الدكتوراه من جامعة مونستر الألمانية وأطروحته كانت عن "فلسفة كارناب".
عمل أستاذا للمنطق الرياضي وفلسفة العلوم في قسم الفلسفة في كلية الآداب في جامعة بغداد، فهو أستاذ الفلسفة المعاصرة، وهو من أوائل الأساتذة العراقيين الذين تخصصوا في فلسفة العلوم والمنطق الرياضي، وقد عمل في قسم الفلسفة منذ سنة 1964 وترأس قسم الفلسفة سنوات عدة كما عمل أستاذا للمنطق الرياضي وفلسفة العلوم في كلية آداب الجامعة الليبية، وأشرف على العديد من طلبة الماجستير والدكتوراه خلال مسيرته التدريسية.
عمل مديرا لمركز إحياء التراث العلمي العربي في بغداد عن تأسيسه سنة 1977، وقد باشر المركز أعماله في 12 شباط 1977.
تشاطه السياسي
شغل منصب وزير دولة لشؤون الشباب في وزارة عبد الرحمن عارف سنة 1967. وبتاريخ 13 كانون الثاني 1968، عين في وزارة طاهر يحيى الرابعة وزيرا لرعاية الشباب بدلا من الوزير المستقيل عبد الهادي الراوي.

اعتادت الجامعات على تدريس مادة منطق أرسطو في قسم الفلسفة، وجرت هذه العادة كذلك في الجامعات العربية بعد أن اعتمد أساتذتها على ما شرحه المناطقة الغربيون من غير رجوع إلى مطالعة ما خلفه أرسطو في الدراسات المنطقية، ومن خلال تدريسي في كلية الآداب (قسم الفلسفة) وجدت صعوبة كبيرة في إيجاد مصادر عربية في منطق أرسطو تحلل هذا المنطق كما عرفه المعلم الأول وتبعاً لما حققه المنطق الحديث من إنجازات علمية في مجال اختصاصه، كل ذلك كان دفعاً قوياً لي لوضع كتاب في منطق أرسطو يتبع منهجاً حديثاً حسب مقتضيات مبادئ المنطق الرياضي.
والبحث الذي أقدمه الآن يتضمن نظريات أرسطو المنطقية المهمة وهي: (نظرية التقابل والمربع المنطقي، نظرية القياس الحملي، نظرية قياس الجهات)، وسنناقش هذه النظريات على المستوى الصوري أو الشكلي من غير أن نأخذ بنظر الاعتبار المعاني والدلالات التي يمكن أن نقرنها بالمتغيرات المنطقية، وهذا يعني أننا سوف نتبع خطوتين، الأولى تهتم بالأشكال المنطقية فقط، والثانية تهتم بالمعاني التي تشير أو تدل إليها العبارات أو الأشكال، ولكن تركيز البحث سيكون على الناحية الشكلية بالدرجة الأولى.
