فالكتاب الذى نعرض له يشتمل على فصول سبعة, يتناول الفصل الأول منها وضيعة المرأة فى الأديان السماوية الثلاث سواء كانت اليهودية أو المسيحية أو الإسلامية وإختلاف نظرة كل منها للمرأة, ويتضمن الفصل الثانى الإتجاهات النظرية التى تناولت دراسة المرأة وما إرتكزت عليه من مفاهيم محورية, ولأن هذا الكتاب يدور حول المشاركة الإجتماعية والسياسية للمرأة فى دول العالم الثالث أو النامى فقد إحتوى الفصل الثالث على صور هذه المشاركة فى بعض الدول النامية فى قارة أسيا و أفريقيا وأمريكا الجنوبية, وقد تعرض الفصل الرابع للحوكمة ومواطنة المرأة فى الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا.
ولأن إهتمامنا ينصب بصورة أكثر إتساعاً على عالمنا العربى فقد تناول الفصل الخامس صور المشاركة الإجتماعية والسياسة للمرأة العربية وخاصة فى دول الأردن, الإمارات العربية المتحدة, البحرين, وتونس, السودان, سوريا, العراق, عمان, فلسطين, قطر, الكويت, لبنان, ليبيا, المغرب, اليمن فد حدودد ماتيسر لنا نت بيانات ومعلومات, وبحكم إنتمائنا الوطنى فقد تناول الفصل السادس صور المشاركة الإجتماعية والسياسية فى مصر من حيث الأوضاع التعليمية والصحية والسياسية والإقتصادية للمرأة, وسياسات تنمية المرأة تعليمياً, وثقافياً, وصحياً, وسياسياً, وتشريعياً, وإقتصادياً, وإجتماعياً, ودورها فى العمل التطوعى. ويختتم الكتاب الفصل السابع الذى يحتويه على إتفاقية القضاء على كل أشكال التمييز ضد المرأة.
