لسنوات طويلة خلت كان شغلي الشاغل التفكير في ضرورة تدوين المهام التي قمت بها في القوة الجوية العراقية حتى تبلورت بشكل تام وواضح ليطلع عليها من لا يعرف هذا الإختصاص في حقبة طويلة من الزمن وليتعرف على الإجابات... ولا يخفى على أحد أن الجهد المبذول في البحث وتقصي المعلومات وتتبع الحقائق من منابعها لم يكن سهلاً.
لقد كان العمل مجهداً لكنه ممتع في نفس الوقت واعتمدت فيه كلياً على البحث الميداني وقد دونت هذه المعلومات وهي من إختصاص عملي الميداني وعلى مدى أكثر من ثلاثة عقود من الزمن.
بعد جهد جهيد تمكنت من الحصول على بعض الصور الشخصية والجماعية لعدد من الضباط الذين عملوا في هذه المؤسسة العريقة.
هذا البحث استغرق وقتاً ليس بالقصير يربو على أكثر من سنتين ورغم معرفتي بهؤلاء المنتسبين لهذه المؤسسة فبعضهم وافته المنية والبعض الآخر تقاعد وآخرون انتقلوا إلى أماكن أخرى.
يضم هذا الكتاب بين دفتيه أسماء ومعلومات وصوراً للعديد من منتسبي القوة الجوية ونبذة مختصرة عن حياة وسيرة قسم منهم وعن إنجازاتهم وما قدموه من خدمات جليلة كانت أم قليلة وإنني اعتمدت الحيادية الصادقة والتامة في مجال هذا البحث.
