يعتبر محمد علي البلاغي أحد رواد النهضة الثقافية والعلمية البارزين في العراق، وكانت له إسهامات متميّزة في إثراء الحركة الادبية والفكرية والإصلاحية التجديديّة في مدينة النجف في النصف الأول من القرن العشرين.
يسلط هذا الكتاب الضوء على السيرة الذاتية للأديب والشاعر والسياسي والكاتب الصحفي الأستاذ محمد علي البلاغي، ونشاطاته المتعددة والمتنوّعة، كتأسيسه ورفاقه لأول مشروع معرفي في العراق "جمعية الرابطة العلمية الادبية في النجف" سنة 1932م، وإصداره لمجلته الإعتدال (1933- 1948م)، والتي كانت منبراً لأعلام الادب العربي وقادة الفكر الثقافي.
كما يحتوى هذا الكتاب على أكثر من 250 رسالة تلقّاها أو بعثها البلاغي إلى شخصيات أدبية وفكرية عراقية، وأكثر من 100 وثيقة من الأوراق التي تركها المرحوم البلاغي.
