الخميس هو الموعد المضروب لثلاث موجات من الأداء العاطفي، كانت أم كلثوم هي مشتركها وقاسمها، فقد كانت صهللة الليلة تكتمل- أولاً: حين تكون موعدًا لحفل أم كلثوم الشهري، وهو ما انقطع في منتصف السبعينيات بمرضها ثم رحيلها.
أما الموجة الثانية، فموعدها كسرة الشمس بعد أغنية كوكب الشرق في الساعة الخامسة بإذاعة الأغاني، حين تنفرج ضلف الشبابيك مُفصحة عن بنات الحارة وقد أمعنت أيهن الاهتمام بمظهرها، وتصفيف شعرها على القورة، متظاهرة بالتشاغل عن صاحبها وسط تجمُّع أقرانه، ثم يتآكل ذلك الموقف شكلاني التحفظ بسرعة، وعلى الفور تبدأ بعض الملاغاة، والإشارات بالعين والحاجب، يعقبها نزول البنت ترافقها في العادة إحدى قريباتها أو صاحباتها لإعطائها الغطاء الأخلاقي المطلوب، ثم عنـد الخـروج من الحـارة تبـدأ وقـائـع اللقـاء، وممارسـة بعض اختـراقـات لنـامـوس القيــم في نطاقـات محدودة بينهـا التـدخيـن عنـد الشـاب، والمـلامسـة نـصف العفويـة عنـد البنت.
