إن متن مراح الأرواح لمؤلفه الإمام أحمد بن علي بن مسعود من المتون الصرفية التي عُنِيَت بعلل التصريف والتعليل، وأبرزت حِكَمَهُ وفلسفتَهُ فاختير منهجاً من المناهج الصرفية التي تدرس في المدارس الدينية في المساجد العراقية.
وقد مَنَّ الله علَيَّ بتدريسه للطلاب عدة مراتٍ، لذا رأيت من المناسب أن أخدم طلاب العلم بشرح له وتعليقات توضح معانيه وتشرح مبانيه بأسلوب معاصر سهل ينسجم مع مستويات طلاب هذا العصر على الرغم من وجود عدة شروح له على نمط الأسلوب القديم.
ورأيت من المستحسن أن أقوم بتحقيق متنه وتحريك ألفاظه ووضع علامات الترقيم بين عباراته مع وضع أسئلة وتمرينات لكل موضوع وجداول توضيحية لبعض مسائله.
