يتألف هذا الكتاب الجليل من مقدمة وأربعين فصلاً، وهو من أبرز مؤلفات الشيخ عبد الواحد يحيى (1886- 1951) وأشدها إثارة، وقد كان له أثر بالغ في فكر أجيال من العلماء والمثقفين سواء في الغرب أو في الشرق، وجعلهم يعودون إلى التراث الروحي الأصيل وإلى الدين الإلهي القيم بعد أن ابتعدوا عنه، وكان - ولا يزال إلى اليوم مع كتب الشيخ الأخرى - سبباً في إسلام الكثير منهم.
وقد شرح فيه الأسس الخاطئة والإتجاهات الدجالية للحضارة الغربية المعاصرة ومراحل تطورها في الماضي وفي المستقبل إلى آخر الزمان، وبيّن بصرامة تناقضها مع المبادئ الإلهية ومعطيات المعرفة الميتافيزيقية اليقينية، والقسم الأول من الكتاب وضح فيه عدة مفاهيم أساسية في المعرفة والأخطاء الحديثة في شأنها، كمعنى الكيف والكم، وحقيقة التجليّ والظهور، والزمان والمكان والمادة، ثمّ خصص فصوله الأخرى لتشخيص ظواهر التخريب الروحي والإنحراف العقائدي والفكري، وقلب الحقائق ومسخ القيم في المجتمعات المعاصرة، وهي الظواهر المميزة للمجتمع البشري في آخر الزمان كما هو مسجل في كلّ الكتب الإلهية.
وفي الأبواب الأخيرة تفصيل للمراحل الممهدة لظهور الدجال وهيمنته القصيرة على العالم ومملكته الزائفة ونهايتها على أيدي القوى الربانية، وأخيراً بيان لمعنى نهاية الدنيا وقيام الساعة، وللمعرب أيضاً تعقيبات وتوضيحات مختصرة تتعلق خصوصاً ببيان توافق الحقائق التي بفصلها المؤلف مع هو موجود في التراث الإسلامي الشرعي والعرفاني، وتتعلق أيضاً بتطبيق كلام المؤلف على أوضاع العالم الإسلامي.
