إن كتاب "مُعين المفتي على جواب المستفتي" الذي ألَّفه الإمام شمسُ الدِّينِ محمدُ بنُ عبدِ الله ابن الخطيب التمرتاشيّ الغَزِّيّ الحنفيّ، يعد واحداً من بين الكتب المهمة في فقه الإمام أبي حنيفة، لما لمصنفه من مكانة مرموقة بين فقهاء المذهب المتأخرين، ولما أودعه فيه من نفائس المسائل التي جمعها من أمهات الكتب المعتمدة في المذهب، مستعرضاً فيها أقوال أصحاب المذهب ورجاله ممن يؤخذ بأقوالهم ويعتمد عليها، مشيراً إلى ما وقع منها فعلاً في عصره أو في العصور السابقة له.
وما يميز الكتابَ أنَّ مصنفه قد اعتمد في ترتيبه على أبواب الفقه المتعارف عليها عند فقهاء المذهب، وقد عمد المصنف إلى تقسيم الكتاب إلى ثلاثة فنون: الفن الأول: جعله في علم الكلام، فأتى فيه بخلاصة مباحث علم الكلام، وأهم المفردات التي يبغيها طلبة العلم في هذا الفن، الفن الثاني: جعله في علم أصول الفقه، فتناول فيه أهم مباحث هذا الفن، معتمداً فيه على أمهات المراجع، مكثراً فيه من النقل، وبعبارة جزلة عذبة، وهو بحق مما يستحق أن يُفرد بالإهتمام من قبل طلبة العلم المعنيين بدراسة علم أصول الفقه، فإنه لا يزال ينتظر اليد التي تمتد إليه بالدراسة والتحقيق، لا سيما أنه يصلح لأن يكون موضوعاً لرسالة علمية في علم أصول الفقه.
أما الفن الثالث: جعله للفقه، ورتبه على الأبواب الفقهية المعروفة، وهو وأهم وأطول الفنون الثلاثة، فهو يمثل أكثر من ثلاثة أرباع الكتاب تقريباً، وهو جوهر الكتاب.
ولأهمية هذا الكتاب لطلبة العلم، راجعه الدكتور "محمد الخزاعي" أستاذ الشريعة الإسلامية والأحوال الشخصية في كلية القانون - جامعة الأنبار وعمل على تخريج الآيات الكريمة والأحاديث الشريفة التي وردت فيه، مقابلة نسخه، وذلك ليحجل الكتاب في متناول يد الطالب.
