فى هذا الكتاب بعض الفنون البلاغية المتنوعة من علمى البيان والبديع حرصنا على إلقاء الضوء وإبراز قيمتها الفنية والجمالية متبعين فى دراستنا لها منهجاً تطبيقياً بعيداً كل البعد عن الإغراق فى التنظير والتقيد الذى يسلب البلاغة أبرز ما تتميز به وهو الحس الفنى والذوق الأدبى. وتقع دراستنا لهذه الفنون فى بابين يسبقهما تمهيد يختص بالحديث عن البلاغة والفصاحة ويعرض بإيجاز لأبرز جهود العلماء فى دراسة كل منهما. أما الباب الأول وعنوانه: فنون بيانية فيقع فى اربعة فصول هى:- أولها بعنوان الحقيقة والمجاز، وثانيها بعنوان المجاز العقلى وثالثها بعنوان المجاز المرسل، ورابعها بعنوان الكناية. وأما الباب الثانى وعنوانه: فنون بديعية. فيقع فى فصلين أولهما يختص بدراسة فنون البديع اللفظى وثانيهما يختص بدراسة فنون البديع اللفظى وثانيهما يختص بدراسة فنون البديع المعنوى. وبعد فإن هذا العمل لا يدعى لنفسه الكمال ولكنه لبنة تضاف إلى صرح شامخ وكل ما نطمح إليه أن تكون هذه اللبنة جديرة بالانضمام لهذا الصرح وتسهم فى خدمة البلاغة العربية وتقربها إلى القلوب وتظهراه فى صورة تليق بها.
