تعرضت بحوث تاريخية سابقة لدولة الخوارزمية من زوايا متعددة منها.
وآلان وبعد مرور اثنتى عشرة سنة على صدور آخر هذه البحوث ظهرت خلالها أجزاء مهمة من مخطوطات لم تكن محققة من قبل.
وقد هيأ ذلك لى أن أعرض لفترة مهمة فى تاريخ الخوارزميين ترتيط بوجودهم فى الشرق الأدنى الإسلامى (الأناضول- بلاد الجزيرة -الشام) بعد مصرع سلطانهم الأخير جلال الدين منكبرتى فى شةال سنة 628/ أغسطس سنة 1231م.
وأخترت أن يكون منهاج البحث على النحو التالى:
تمهيد جغرافى عن بيئة الخوارزميين فى موطنهم الأصلى للتعرف على أهم ملامحها التى انعكست على تكوينهم الجسمى والنفسى, وشكلت أنماط حياتهم العملية, وتدخلت أيضاً فى تحديد علاقتهم بجيرانهم, عرض موجز سريع لأهم مواقف التاريخ السياسى للدولة الخوارزمية, موضوع البحث ويمتد زمنياً بين عامى 628 و644هـ, ويتضمن عدة محاور:
التمزق الخوارزمى فى أواخر سنة 628هـ, الهجرة الخوارزمية إلى كنف سلاجقة الروم بالأناضول فى الفترة بين عامى 628, 634هـ, الفرار إلى بلاد الجزيرة فى الفترة بين عامى 634, 641هـ وعلاقتهم مع الأيوبيين والأراتقة والخلافة العباسية, الارتحال إلى بلاد الشام فى الفترة بين عامى 642 و644هـ, وصدامهم مع الصليبيين فى القدس وغزة ويافا, التمزق الخوارزمى الأخير أسبابه وأهم نتائجه.
وأخيراً فقد اجتهدت, ولعلى أكون قد أصبت, وعلى الله قصد السبيل فهو نعم المولى ونعم المعين.
