الحسن بن علي الضبي التنيسي أبو محمد، المعروف بابن وكيع: شاعر مجيد.
أصله من بغداد، ومولده ووفاته في تنيس (بمصر) له (ديوان شعر - ط) وكتاب (المصنف) في سرقات المتنبي.
وكانت في لسانه عجمة

اختار المؤلف كتاب "المصنف في الدلالات على سرقات المتنبي" لـ"ابن وكيع التنيسي"، موضوعاً لهذه الرسالة إدراكاً لما يمثله هذا الكتاب من القيمة النقدية وما يحتويه من مادة غزيرة، ولما يمثله من مادة تراثية خالدة تظهر لنا ما توصل إليه الذوق العربي وما توصلت إليه الحضارة والإنسانية من فكر ومعرفة وما بلغوه على من العصور المتعاقبة.
ويمثل لنا كتاب "المنصف" مادة نقدية لناقد استطاع أن يضع ذوقه المقياس العام لنقده لأبيات "المتنبي" وظهر "ابن وكيع" في الوقت الذي اشتدت فيه الحركة النقديقة في القرن الرابع الهجري والتي كان للـ"متنبي" النصيب الأكبر منها، فكان لـ"ابن وكيع" دور في دفع هذه الحركة إلى الأمام.
وتضم الرسالة قسمين: القسم الأول: يتضمن الدراسة، القسم الثاني: تضمن النص المحقق؛ أما القسم الأول فتضمن بابين: الباب الأول: للمؤلف، والباب الثاني: للكتاب؛ أما الباب الأول: فتضمن ما يلي: الفصل الأول: تناول فيه عصر "ابن وكيع التنيسي" والفترة السياسية والأحوال العامة للبلاد خلال القرن الرابع الهجري؛ أما الفصل الثاني: فتناول فيه حياة "ابن وكيع التنيسي" وأسرته وقبيلته ومؤلفاته.
أما الباب الثاني فتضمن ما يلي: الفصل الأول: وتطرق فيه إلى موضوع الكتاب وهو "السرقات" ومن ألف فيه من النقاد القدامى وجعله في المبحث الأول، وتناول في المبحث الثاني منهج "ابن وكيع" النقدي من خلال دراسته لكتاب المنصف، وتناول في المبحث الثالث أهمية الكتاب والآخذين عنه؛ وتناول في الفصل الثاني وصف المخطوط ومنهجي في التحقيق.
