قلت: بينك وبينها مسافة بعيدة، ولكنك إذا وصلت مشارف الصحراء، فإنك ستعرفها سيكون بينك وبين سهل وادي الذنالب حينها فرسخان، ثم تعرج شمالاً نحو خمسة فراسخ حيث كانت معركة النخلة، أقصد المعركة الأولى، ثم تمضي أمامك سبعة فراسخ أو أقل قليلاً، ستجد جبل النار، وخلفه كانت حرب يوم الرؤوس، لا تسافر هنالك نهارا، فالحر شديد، ولكن عليك بالسُّرى، وعدد الفجر ستكون قد أطللت، إذا كنت مجداً في مسيرك، على وادي القتلى، ينبغي أن ترتاح هناك، وسلاحك قريب منك، فقومنا يحبون الغارات... ثم أمامك نحو عشرة فراسخ لتصل حاضرة البلاد، ومهوى فؤاد العباد: عاصمة نفطتان العزيزة".
