الرئيس جمال عبد الناصر .. إختلف على محبته ومعارضته الكثيرين ولكن إتقف الجميع على شخصتية القيادية غير المسبوقة وذكاءه الحاد وصلابته المعهودة وعشقه لوطنه والنخوة الحية السارية فى عروقه حيال الأمة العربية والقارة الإفريقية ... كان رئيساً لمصر ولكنه ليس مجرد رئيساً للبلاد إكتسب شهرته وصيته من منصبه بل كان المنصب هو الذى يستمد قوته من هذا الفتى الأسمر الآتى من بين صفوف الشعب المناضلة . أمسك بزمام الأمور فى فترة عصبية وحرجة تلت الإستعمار البريطانى خروجه من مصر ومواجهته العديد من الأزمات .. فكان تاريخه مليئا بالواقف الجديره بالدراسة والتمعن. أيضاً من المميز له" خطبه " التى كان ينتظرها الملايين بفارغ الصبر وحين سماعها بآذان صياغة متشوقة. فلم تكن أبداً مجرد كلمات إنها كلمات تحمل بين طياتها الحدث الجديد دائما بل والمفاجئ للعالم بأسره فمن فوق منبرها قاد هذا الزعيم المعارك وخاض الحروب.. تحدث إلى شعبة فى السراء والضراء .. فى اليسر والعسر. لهذا عندما نقدم تلك الخطب كاملة فى عمل واحد متسق فنحن نقدم بهذا تسجيلاً لقصة تاريخية لن تتكرر عاشها هذا الشعب العريق مع قائده المقدام.. من أول يوم وحتى آخر يوم ودع فيه قائدة فى أكبر جنازة شهرها التاريخ.
كان جمال عبد الناصر هو صوت الأمة العربية لمدة ثمانية عشر عاماً لذلك فإن توثيق ونشر خطبه وكلماته وأحاديثه يعدان تاريخاً لحقبة هامة من الكفاح القومي في زمن الحرب الباردة بين الشرق والغرب، وتعريفا بفلسفته ومبادئه التي لم تتزعزع، والتي تمثلت في العزة، والكرامة ، والحرية، والاستقلال الذاتي، ومحاربة الاستعمار، والاستغلال والاحتكار، وإقامة العدالة الاجتماعية، وتوسيع المشاركة الديمقراطية والالتحاق بحركات التحرر في آسيا وآفريقيا وأمريكا اللاتينية.
ونحن نضع بين يدي القارئ عمل علمي يوثق ويحقق خطب وكلمات جمال عبد الناصر وأحاديثه الصحفية، بالإضافة إلى المناقشات التى أجراها مع فئات مختلفة من الشعب.
ولقد تم تقسيم هذا العمل الضخم إلى أحد عشر مجلداً وفقا للتسلسل التاريخي من الأحداث إلى الأقدم من 1970 إلى 1952 مع الالتزام بفهرس للأعلام وآخر موضوعي، تيسيرا للقراء والباحثين وهذا المجلد الذي بين يديك عزيزي القارئ هو المجلد الخامس ويتناول الفترة من يناير 1962 إلى ديسمبر 1963، ونعدكم بظهور المجلدات الأخرى تباعا، راجين أن يمثل هذا العمل إضافة طال انتظارها للمكتبة العربية.
