يقدم الكتاب الأول إيضاحاً شاملاً لدلالات الحديث النبوي البليغ : " ربَّ مُبلّغ أوعى من سامع " ، وقد استضاف فيه المؤلف ، عشرات من كبار علماء الإسلام عبر العصور ، ناقلاً عنهم عباراتهم البديعة في شأن الفقه بالحديث النبوي ، وضارباً من فقههم الأمثلة الواضحة على كثير من القضايا ، ومجلياً أسباب اختلاقهم في استنباط فروع الأحكام ...
أما المحاور التي يتناولها الكتاب فهي : مقدمة في بيان منزلة الحديث الشريف في نفوس الأئمة ، ومتى يصلح الحديث الشريف للعلم به ؟ ، وسبب اختلاف الأئمة في فهم الحديث الشريف ، وعرض للشبهات التي يختلف الناس في فهمها وفي الجواب عنها ، وزيادات أهمها النقول الثلاثة الموجودة في كتاب " مسائل الإمام أحمد " الفقهية ، لأبي داود ، مع التعليق عليها ، ببيان منهج الأئمة : أئمة الهدى والإجتهاد ، في التعامل مع النصوص النبوية الشريفة .
بينما يتناول الكتاب الثاني - أدب الإختلاف في مسائل العلم والدين - الأمور التي جدّت في ظهورها ، وبرزت في حياة المسلم المعاصر ، فيقدم من خلاله المؤلف ما ينير الدرب للسائرين ، بنماذج من أدب الإختلاف للعلماء المسلمين ، فيبدأ بتعريف الإختلاف ، والفرق بينه وبين الخلاف ، مجالاته ، أسبابه ، حكمه ، شروطه ، ثم تعريف الأدب ومعناه العام ، أهميته ومكانته ، شروطه ، الأدب في الإختلاف ، ونماذج من واقع الأئمة ، ويرد على بعض الشبهات ويقدم قوارب النجاة وسبل الخلاص من الإختلاف وفيه منهج الأئمة في التعلم والتعليم والعمل .
