وعندما ارتأى أن ينهض بمصر ويرسل البعثات العلمية للخارج كان عليه أن يخطب ود ملكي انجلترا وفرنسا أوقوى دولتين خلال تلك الحقبة فقام باهداء كليهما زرافة!! وإذا كانت للزرافة حكاية.. فإنه قد دار حولها الكثير من الحكايات الطريفة والمغامرات المثيرة شهدت غابات أفريقيا ومجاهلها وريوع فرنسا أحداثها التى يحكي هذا الكتاب قصتها وفصولها الشيقة.
