الكتاب محاولة مخلصة لتحديد وجهة نظر مصرية في أمور تهم الأمة العربية وترتبط بانتمائها القومي كما أنه يقدم تحليلاً لأحداث 11 سبتمبر 2001 وتداعياتها وتأثير ذلك على الشرق الأوسط كله وعلى العرب تحديداً .
آمنت في النهاية أن الكاريزما السياسية - بقدر حلاوة تأثيرها والحماس لردود أفعالها، قد تكون في النهاية خصماً من مستقبل الأمم وإنجازات الشعوب، فضلاً عن أنها توجه ضربة قاصمة للمسيرة الديموقراطية وتنتقص من مساحة المشاركة السياسية، لأن الضوء المبهر الذي يصد عن الشخصية "الكاريزمية" يعمي الأبصار، ويلهي القلوب، ويغفر الخطايا.
