ألح "حسن" على أنني سأندهش وهو ينفذ بي من إجراءات الأمن المشددة، إلى قاعة اليخت الدائرية، الفسيحة والمزدحمة، يتوسطها مسرح دائري منخفض، بأحد جوانبه منصه عريضة وراءها ثلاثة رجال، يرتدون بذلات سوداء متشابهة، أمام كل منهم حاسوب رمادى.
قال: إنهم محكمو المسابقة بجوارهم- من اليمين- دولاب زجاجي على رفه السفلى حقيبة جلدية سوداء متوسطة الحجم.
قال: بها مبلغ الجائزة، مئة ألف جنية نقداً وعداً. على الرف العلوى تمثال مطلي بالأسود يمثل شخصاً باكيا بإفراط، فاغر الفم بصرخة فزعة حبيسة.
قال: إنه تمثال النواح. كتبت على قاعدته الرمادية المستديرة بلون الذهب: "مسابقة البكاء- السنة الخامسة"
قال: راعى المسابقة هو : سامى العزيزى وشهرته "البرنس" أصغر رجال الأعمال سنا وأفحشهم ثراء "عضو بارز - قالها غامراً- فى لجنة السياسات عينه عل وزارة الثقافة، ثورى قديم.
تابع "حسن" الصحفى بالفطرة وليس الاكتساب فحسب سيل المعلومات، مغطيا- الآن- جانب فمه بكفه الغليظة: "لا يدخل هنا سوى الصفوة" التفت إليه مستفهما ونحن فى الطرق القصى. فغمز مشيراً إلينا: "طبعاً لا يخلو الأمر نت أفراد عاديين، موصى عليهم لكنهم محيدين، لايؤخذ بدموعهم إذ ما اهرقت". ولعب حاجبيه مبتسماً.
