يتطرق هذا البحث- بناءً على المنهج الوصفي- لمفهوم ونموذج تفكير القطيع كأحد العوائق الرئيسية التي تعترض عملية صنع القرار الجماعي. ويتكون هذا النموذج من ثلاثة أجزاء رئيسية: العوامل التي تسبق تفكير القطيع، أعراض تفكير القطيع، وأعراض عملية صنع القرار المختلة الناتجة عن أعراض تفكير القطيع، وفي الجزء الأخير من هذا البحث تم مراجعة بعض الحالات الدراسية التي أوضحت وجود أو عدم وجود تفكير القطيع في حالات تقريرية مختلفة. كما تم الإشارة إلى بعض الإقتراحات التي من الممكن أن تساعد المنظمات على تحاشي مرض" تفكير القطيع" خلال عمليات صنع القرار الجماعي.
