فأقول * حد هذا الفن كما نقله العلامة الشلي عن شيخ الاسلام علم يعرف به أومنة الأيام والليالي وأحوالها اى الأزمنة * وموضوعه الكواكب والبروج من حيث سيرها كما قاله العلامة الابياري في سعود المطالع* وفضله أن شرفا عظيما من حيث انه يعرف به أوقات الأداء والقبلة المتعلقان بالصلوات التى هى أعظم أركان الإسلام وأفضل العبادات البدنية وغيرهما مما يذكر في كتب هذا الفن من المقاصد كالماضي والباقي من النهار والليل وكمسئلة المتوارثين الآتية وغيرها ويستعان على التفكير في ملكوت السموات والارض وما اشتملتا عليه من العجائب.
