يمكن النظر إلى فؤاد فى مراحل:
1- مرحلة عمله بمجلس البلدية، والتي تقارب خمسة عشر عاماً، ستة منها بلا عمل محدد حتى صار اختصاصه قيد استمارة فى دفتر يسمى 45 أ ح هـ (اعمال حكومية هامة). استمارة واحدة فقط يقيدها كل عدة أيام.
2- مرحلة ما قبل المجلس، حيث تنقل فؤاد بين عدة أعمال بعضها أثناء سنتي دراسته بمعهد يدعى بسيسة، ونقل مقره بعد أن حمل فؤاد شهادته بأعوام قليلة إلى مكان آخر محتفظاً باسمه القديم كاسم الميدان الذى كان فيه، بسيسة.
يمكن إطلاق أسم الثورة على المرحلة قبل الأخيرة من حياة فؤاد، بما حدث فيها داخل نفسه، وقد جاوز السادسة والأربعين من عمره، واستقر الأمر على أنه موظف قديم بالمجلس، وسبقت مرحلة الثورة فترة يمكن تسميتها بوادر الثورة. هذا وقد انتهت الثورة إلى المرحلة الرابعة والأخيرة من حياته، (المنفى).
4- مرحلة المنفى، فمن أواخر أحداث الثورة شجار مع أحد زملائه فى المجلس ويدعى سمير، وإثر ذلك نقل فؤاد إلى قرية كبيرة أطلق عليها هو نفسه المنفى، وهي من توابع المدينة حيث يسكن.
