جورج سوروس (بالإنجليزية: George Soros ) ولد في الثاني من شهر آب أغسطس عام 1930 ،وهو هنغاري المولد أمريكي الجنسية، رجل أعمال ومستثمر ومهتم بالعمل الخيري. عرف بدعمه للسياسات الليبرالية وبدوره الفعال في مرحلة التحول من الشيوعية إلى النظام الرأس مالي في المجر (1984-1989).
أعطى جورج أكبر منحة قدمت للجامعة الأوربية في بودابست عاصمة المجر علما أنه كان تبرع ضد الاجتياح الصربي لمدينة سراييفو في التسعينات.
حياته المبكرة
ولد في بودابست عاصمة هنغاريا لعائلة يهودية علمانية من الطبقة العليا الوسطى، والده محامي وأمه تنتمي لعائلة تملك محل لبيع أقمشة الحرير، تزوج عام 1960. هاجر عام 1947 إلى إنجلترا حيث تقدم للدارسة في كلية لندن للاقتصاد ليكون أفقر طالب فيها فعمل كنادل ليؤمن لنفسه ما يقتات به وانهى دراسته حاصلا على درجة البكالوريوس في الفلسفة في 1951 وخلال عام 1954 حصل على الدكتوراة في نفس التخصص.

لقد غدت العولمة غير متوازنة إذا لم يحافظ تطوير المؤسسات الدولية على سرعة خطى تطور أسواق النقد العالمية وتخلفت إجراءاتها السياسية وراء عولمة الاقتصاد والأسواق لا خلاق لها. فهي تتيح للناس التصرف وفقاً لمصالحها دون محاكمة لأخلاق هذه المصالح والمجتمع لا يستطيع ألا يميز بين الحق والباطل. أسواق المال لاتجه إلى التوازن وهي تحتاج إلى يد واضحة ترشدها وتحول دون خروجها عن الجادة فاضطرابات الأرجنتين قد أحدثت أمراً فتناقص رؤوس الأموال المستمر وما ينتج عنه من خطر يدفع دولاً إلى حافة تشتد فيها حدة الخطر.
