يعد "كتاب الأفعال" (أفعال الله عزّ وجلّ) من أهمِّ المصنفات في علم التوحيد وهو من تأليف القاضي أبي بكر بن العربي المعافري الأشبيلي (ت 543هـ) الذي يعد من أهم العلماء الذين رسخوا أصول المذهب الأشعري في الغرب الإسلامي صاحب التصانيف الفريدة في جميع العلوم الشرعية منقولها ومعقولها، وعلى رأسها علم الكلام وأصول الدين والعقيدة على طريقة علماء الأمة الأشاعرة، ولأهمية هذا الكتاب اضطلعت بتحقيقه الأستاذة نبيلة الذكرى بعد أن عرّفت بالمؤلِّف والمؤلَّف معاً وتقريب موضوع الكتاب وإشكالاته، وضبط المتن وتصحيحه بالإعتماد على أربع نسخ خطية - يذكرها الكتاب - فضلاً عن الإهتمام بالحواشي والهوامش تعليقاً وتخريجاً وعزواً وشرحاً وترجمة.
والكتاب يتناول: القسم الثالث من أقسام التوحيد المعتمدة في المذهب الأشعري وهو قسم "توحيد الأفعال"؟ وقد جعله مؤلفه القاضي الأشبيلي، كما صرّح بذلك في المقدمة تكملة وتتمة لكتاب "الأمد الأقصى في شرح أسماء الله تعالى الحسنى وصفاته العلى" حتى يستقيم للمسلم العلم بالتوحيد من جميع وجوهه وقد تميز القاضي الإشبيلي في كتابه هذا؛ حيث تتبع فيه أفعال الله تعالى في القرآن الكريم، فعمل على البدء بإيراد الآية الناصة على فعل من أفعاله تعالى، حسب ترتيب الآي في القرآن الكريم، ثم ثنيّ بشرح شيء من ألفاظها، وبيان دلالتها ومقصدها، مع الوجازة في العبارة، والقصد في البيان.
هو الإمام العالم القاضي الشهير فخر المغرب، أبو بكر محمد بن عبد الله بن العربي المعافري، قاضي قضاة كورة إشبيلية، ذكره الحجاري في المسهب ، طبق الآفاق بفوائده، وملأ الشام والعراق بأوابده، وهو إمام في الأصول والفروع وغير ذلك. وضع كتاباً هاماً في العقيدة تناول فيه أفعال الله عز وجل ( مخطوط بالخزانة العامة بالرباط رقم حفظه 49 ). نقدم لكم هذا المخطوط محققاً ودققاً بين أيديكم.
