لقد عرف الشاعر الحي، حب الوطن وحب المرأة ، ولديه قصائد حب جميلة ضمن بعضها فى ديوانه " الليل عبر غابة النيون" ولكن الكثير منها لم ينشر بعد رغم أننى قد وجدت بعضها منشورة فى بعض الصحف والمجلات في السودان وخارج السودان.. ومعروف أن الشاعر قد كتب العديد من الأغانى العاطفية التى ساهمت بقدر واضح فى تطور الأغنية السودانية وتشكيل وجداننا الفنى.. غنى له الفنان ابن كسلا ابراهيم حسين " شجون" و" قالوا الزمن دوار" .. وغنى له الفنان الكبير محمد وردى أغنية( ما فى داعى) فى السبعينات وكذلك بعدها أغنية " تاجوج وما تزال بين أيدينا " وضمن أوراقه الكثير من الأغانى وقد غنى له فنانون أخرين.
