هذه رسالة وجيزة في لفظها، بديعة في بابها، قررها ببراعة العلامة محمد شقرون الوهراني، وهو من علماء الجزائر المغمورين، من رجالات السلف الماضين وقد حاول فيها إجلاء مذهب أهل السنة والجماعة فى مسألة "إيمان المقلد في العقائد" وما يترتب عليها من حكم على صاحبه بالإيمان، أو الكفر، أو بالتوقف دون ترجيح، وقد خلص في النهاية إلى أن إيمان المقلد يكفي فيه مجرد النطق بالشهادتين، فيما يتعلق بالأحكام الظاهرة في الدنيا، ثم الله بعد ذلك يتولى شؤون السرائر يوم القيامة.
وبالنظر للأهمية التي تحتلها هذه الرسالة فقد اعتنى "هارون الجزائري" بتحقيقها فقام بنسخ النص الموجود بين يديه ثم قابل بين المنسوخ والأصل، بعد ذلك تتبع الاختلاف الموجود بين النص المخطوط، والمطبوع، وأثبته في مكانه، من هم قام بتخريج الآيات وعزوها إلى مواضعها في القرآن الكريم، من ثم قام بتخريج الأحاديث وبتبيان صحيحها من ضعيفها، وبعزو أغلب الأقوال التي نسبها المؤلف إلى أصحابها، وأخيرا قام بتذييل الرسالة بذيلين، الأول عبارة عن رسوم عن المخطوطة، والثاني مثل تلخيصاً لكلام الدكتور عبد الرحمن بن صالح المحمود في موضوع الباب من كتابه "موقف ابن تيمية من الأشاعرة" لتقريره مذهب أهل السنة والجماعة في ذلك، لما رأى فيه من الفوائد، وسمى هذا الملخص بـ"تنبيه الخلف بأول واجب على المكلف".
