في هذا الوقت الحاسم إذ تعلو راية الانتفاضة الفلسطينية-في مواجهة الاستعمار الصهيوني لفلسطين، باذلةً الدم بسخاء نادر من أجل تحرير الأرض والإنسان، ومن حولها الأمة العربية وخاصة أجيالها الطالعة الواعدة، تأتي هذه المجموعة من الأبحاث والدراسات عن "العرب وإسرائيل" أو "العرب والكيان الصهيوني" بتعبير قومي أدقّ، تمثل "ضُمّة" متكاملة حول عدد من أهم قضايا الصراع "الأهم" في تاريخ العرب الحديث: الصراع العربي الصهيوني، وأبرز تجلياته: الصراع العربي الإسرائيلي.
ولم تكتب هذه الدراسات بقصد سرد الأحداث، ولا بقصد إثبات عدد من التأملات والانطباعات العامة، وإنما كتبت بغرض تقديم "مساهمة" في "تفسير" وقائع الصراع العرب، أي في تحقيق نوع من الفهم المؤسس علمياً بقدر الإمكان. ثم إن المساهمة في التفسير ينبغي أن تقود إلى مساهمة في "التغيير" وليس هذا بمستبعد على أي حال.
وبالرجوع إلى مضمون هذه الأبحاث والدراسات نجد أنها تعرضت للمواضيع الساخنة التالية: توازن القوى الاقتصادية بين العرب وإسرائيل، التصور الإسرائيلي للتعامل مع العرب في المستقبل، الاستراتيجية المصرية للتعامل مع إسرائيل، احتمالات عملية التسوية السلمية بين العرب وإسرائيل من الزاوية الإسرائيلية، مسارات غامضة ومصائر غير مؤكدة..! بحث في الخيار الشرق أوسطي وبدائله، الشرق أوسطية: برنامج العمل الغربي-الأمريكي للمنطقة العربية بما فيها مصر، حول القدرة النووية الإسرائيلية، المشكلة الفلسطينية، القدس: بين موروثات التاريخ ومشروعات السياسة.
