البحر الذي كنت دائمًا أحجّ إليه أثناء غروب الشمس، متأملاً القرص الذهبي الكبير وهو ينزل على سيف الأفق؛ لينطفئ رويدًا رويدًا مانحًا ذهبه لسطح الماء الشاسع، موجات رقيقة من ذهب سائل يتموّج بهدير صوت بحر يودّع شمسَه.
البحر الذي دائمًا قبل أن أصل إليه يترامى إليّ صوته بلغته الغامضة، وصمته الأكثر غموضًا، صوته المؤنس، صمته المُقلِق، وطيوره التي تطبع على رمال شواطئه آثار اكتمال هجرتها، وكلما اجتاحت المدينة رياحه الباردة يضمُّها البحر بحنوٍ بالغٍ، نافخًا في أطرافها دفء قلبه الذي اختلسه واكتنزه لأجلها من شمس النهار.
