إن الإسلام هو الدين الذي أنزله سبحانه وتعالى على بني البشر منذ أسكن أباهم آدم الأرض وحتى تقوم الساعة .. به جاء المرسلون .. وبهديه نادى النبيون .. وبآدم عليه السلام بدأت رسالته .. وبمحمد (ص) خُتمت رسالته.
وهنا يبرز التساؤل التالي : ما دام الأمر كذلك فمن أين جاء الاختلاف بين الرسالات السماوية ... بل من أين جاء هذا التعدد للأديان ؟! .. ونجيب على ذلك بالقول أن رسالة الإسلام عندما كان يأتي بها رسول أو نبي على أمة أو قوم .. يؤمن بهذه الرسالة من يؤمن… ويكفر بها من يكفر .. وما أن يتوفى الله رسول هذه الأمة أو القوم حتى تتعرض هذه الرسالة إلى النسيان أو التحريف أو التبديل … ليصار إلى جعل الحق باطلاً .. والباطل حقاً.. ويصف سبحانه وتعالى الذين يقومون بذلك: " وإن منهم لفريقاً يلوون ألسنتهم بالكتاب لتحسبوه من الكتاب وما هو من الكتاب ويقولون هو من عند الله وما هو من عند الله ويقولون على الله الكذب وهم يعلمون" (سورة-آلعمران-78) ... ومن هنا فان جميع الكتب السماوية فيما عدا القران الكريم قد تعرضت لمثل هذا النسيان أو التبديل أو التحريف … وبسبب أن كلاً من القران الكريم والسنة النبوية الصحيحة - من بين جميع مصادر الأديان السماوية - هما المصدران الوحيدان اللذان لهما سند متصل .. وبسبب ذلك فالإسلام هو الرسالة التي حفظها سبحانه وتعالى نقية من أي تبديل أو تحريف : " انا نحن نزلنا الذكر وانا له لحافظون" (سورة الحجر-9).
كما ويحذر سبحانه وتعالى أهل الكتاب من مغبة عدم الإيمان برسالة محمد (ص) : " يا أهل الكتاب قد جاءكم رسولنا يبين لكم على فترة من الرسل أن تقولوا ما جاءنا من بشير ولا نذير فقد جاءكم بشير ونذير والله على كل شيء قدير" (سورة المائدة-19) .
