هذه الرسالة: " تحفة النساك في فضل السواك" جمعت جملة من فضائل السواك وأحكامه الفقهية، وقد صنفها المؤلف في مقدمة وثلاثة أبواب وجيزة على طريقة الفقهاء، فذكر فيها من فضائل السواك الشيء الكثير، وذكر بعض ما لم يصح، ونبهت على ذلك في موضعه من الرسالة في الأغلب.
وعزا المؤلف فيها أكثر الأحاديث إلى مصادرها، فأغنى عن تخريجها، وأغفل بعضها فعلقت عليها بإيجاز تام، وعلى كل حال أحاديث السواك تدخل في باب الفضائل، والعلماء قد تسامحوا فيها برواية الحديث الضعيف لا الموضوع. وزيادة بالإيضاح فقد ألحق بآخر الرسالة (تتمة) في تحقيق استعمال السواك باليمنى أم باليسرى، نقل فيها الأقوال في ذلك، إذ وقع اختلاف من بعض الأئمة في هذه المسألة.
