المتابع لما يكتب في الدوريات حول الفن التشكيلي عموماً, يجد أنه لا يتعدى المتابعات وهي في حدود الخير الصحفي والتوصيف. ولكن هذه الأخبار والتوصيفات تتضمن جملاً ما أنزل الله بها من سلطان. علماً أننا ما أن ننفرد بفنان تشكيلي حتى يتحدث عن الآخرين باستهتار واشمئزاز, وأحياناً بقرف.. وما أن يلتقي فنان بآخر, أو يكتب فنان أو ناقد عن آخر حتى يبدأ إطراء يتجاوز الكذب فيه الغول والعنقاء, ولكن الأمر الغريب أن هذا يصدق. لعل هذه الحالة هي التي دفعت الكاتب الى كتابة هذه المقالات.. لذلك أتت غير مألوفة شكلاً ومضموناً. في بعض الأحيان كان الفن التشكيلي متكأ لتناول قضايا فنية يمكن أن تنسحب على فروع أخرى من الإبداع. وكان من أهم المواضيع التي تناولها الكتاب: حدوة وهلال, خيار, أطراف المجد, السارق من السارق, المؤذي, معرضان في واحد, مصالحة تاريخية, تراث ومعاصرة, معجزة, إعجاب, الفن الحاسوبي, وغيرها من المواضيع الشيقة.
