يصدر هذا الكتاب بمناسبة مرور خمسين عاماً على أول عرض لأول أوبرا مصرية، هى " حسن البصرى " التى وضع موسيقاها الفنان كامل الرمالى ، عندما عرضت فصول منها فى قاعة " إيوارت " بالجامعة الأمريكية ، فى القاهرة ، يوم 26 إبريل عام 1956. أما مداخلنا إلى الكتاب ، فسوف يجمعها مبدأ " الكشف والاكتشاف وإعادة الاكتشاف " سواء بالتعريف التوثيقى والمرجعى لنص أوبرا حسن البصرى ، وكونها الأولى فى إبداعات الأوبرا مصرياً أو بإلقاء الضوء الكاشف على صاحبها الموسيقار كامل الرمالى ودوره الرائد فى هذا الصدد ، حتى مع أختلاف آراء التقييم النقدى والفنى.
