إن الإنسان بطبعه يميل إلى الحكي، فما إن تبدأ الحكاية حتى ينتبه الجميع بل وبعضهم يظهر على وجوههم أثر الحكي فيبدو الوجه فرحًا أو مغتاظًا أو حزينًا أو غاضبًا على حسب أحداث الحكاية التي يسمعها.
ولا شك أن الطفل هو أكثر من يهتم بالقصة ويسعى إلى سماعها التأثر بأحداثها، حيث أن خياله البكر يمكنه من حسن التصور لأجواء قصة، كما أن رغبته في التعرف على الحياة من حوله تدفعه إلى سماع القصص والحكايات.
وإذا انتبهنا إلى هذه الحقيقة فسنعرف ونتأكد من الدور المهم الذي يمكن أن تقوم به القصة في تربية الأطفال. فالقصة تعتبر تجربة حياتية حتى وإن كانت خيالية تحتوي على بعض الدروس والعبر التي يستطيع الطفل بنجاح أن يستقيها ويفهمها ويستفيد منها.
وليس هناك أفضل من قصص القرآن، والمواقف الرائعة العظيمة لأنبياء الله، وكذلك مواقفهم البطولية التي تعرف الطفل من هم أنبيائه الذي يجب أن يفتخر بهم ويكون على شاكلتهم في السلوك والأخلاق والصبر حتى نخرج من طور الهزيمة والاستسلام إلى طور الاعتزاز بالنفس بالدين العظيم.
