أستطيع أن أقول وأنا مستريح البال إنك شخص لا يوثق به علي مصائر أبطاله. ولا أستبعد على الإطلاق أن تخرج لنا غدا بعمل تطير فيه البطلة مثلما فعل ماركيز، وأنا لا أستبعد منك ذلك. ولكن لتعرف. ماركيز هذا كاتب كبير" يا فسل" انظر لاحظ ايطالك البؤساء الذين أوقعهم حظهم العاثر بين يديك، إنهم يبكون واسمع أحدهم يقول، لكل شخص مر بى ورأى دموعى أن يعرف: هذا جناه كاتب على وما جنيت على أحد؟ انظروا مثلا لو وقع مصير المقدس فرج بين يد خالق ماهر كنجيب محفوظ. يا الله على حظ فرج التعس كان يمكن اه أن يكون شخصا حقيقيا من دم ولحم مثله مثل سعيد مهران، لكنه جلس ستة وعشرين عاما بجوار الجامع صامتاً وحين أراد له الإله أن يتكلم للمرة الأولى أوقعه حظه العاثر فى يد جاهل بمصائر العظماء الصامتين، وهم كثر، - أيها السيد الكاتب، المتحكم فينا نحن عبيدك، يا على الجناب اسمع منا كلمة وحيدة، لا تغامر إذ يناديك السراب.
