تم إعداد هذا الكتاب لكي يزود طلاب قسم الهندسة الكهربية في جامعاتنا العربية بالمعلومات الاساسية التي يجب عليهم استيعابها حتى يتسنى لهم متابعة دراستهم بعد ذلك في علوم الهندسة الكهربية، وبخاصة تلك التي تتعلق بشعبة القوى الكهربية مثل علم الآلات الكهربية على وجه التحديد، وقد روعي فيه أن تكون لغته العربية سهلة، كما روعي عدم الدخول في تفصيلات غير لازمة للوصول إلى الهدف المطلوب في كل موضوع، كذلك أعطى اهتمام خاص للأمثلة المحلولة لكي يتبين للطالب بجلاء ووضوح كيف يمكن تطبيق المعلومات المستفادة لحل المسائل التي يتطلب حلها الإلمام بتلك المعلومات، والكتاب يحتوي على قسمين القسم الأول ويحتوي على الكهرباء الإستاتيكية بكافة مجالاتها أما القسم الثاني فيحتوي على ثلاثة أبواب، يستعرض الباب الأول منها أهم القوانين والقواعد المستخدمة في حل مسائل الدوائر الكهربية ذات الطبيعة المركبة التي تحتوي على مصادر للتيار المستمر، ويشتمل الباب الثاني على الموضوعات الخاصة بعلاقة التيار الكهربي بالمجال المغناطيسي، والدوائر المغناطيسية التي تربط بينهما، بينما يختص الباب الثالث بنظريات التيار المتردد في المرحلة الواحدة والمراحل الثلاث.
