لقد انتهجت حتشبسوت سياسة سليمة خال فترة حكمها للبلاد , وكانت على غير رأى أبيها فلم تهتم على الإكلاق بآسيا , بل أرادت أن تحيى السياسة القديمة وهي الاقتصار على العلاقات التجارية فقط وبخاصة مع الجنوب , فأرسلت حملتها الشهيرة إلى بلاد " بونت " واهتمت بإصلاح حالة البلاد وترميم ما تهدم من معابد ومقابر وبخاصة أثناء فترة حكم الهكسوس الذيناحتلو البلاد وعاثوا فيها الفساد والضلال والتخريب.
عملت " حتشبسوت " كذلك على إقامة المباني الفخمة في طيبة , وضنت بموارد البلاد أن تذهب في حروب في آسيا لم تكن تؤمن بها أو حتى بنتائجها . لكن هذا الاتجاه السلمي نحو إحياء التجارة , والاتجاه نحو الجنوب والاهتمام بالاتصال بأفريقيا بدلا من الاتصال بآسيا , بدأ يحدث رد فعل جديد .
