في هذه الرواية، ينقلك عيسى الصيداوي من الريف إلى المدينة، بفعل مآله الأخير-الهجرة. إلا أن الهجرة هذه المرة، لم تأت بسبب عوامل اقتصادية، بل جاءت نتيجة تأثير عامل خارجي، ألا وهو الاحتلال الصهيوني لجولاننا الحبيب، مغتصباً الأرض وقاتلاً البشر.
كما يغوص الروائي في أعماق شخصياته، كاشفاً خبايا النفس البشرية، وفاضحاً سوءات المدينة، وما تعج به من تشوهات سلوكية، من احتيال وتهريب مخدرات وتزوير.
إن هذه الرواية تعج بالدراما، الأمر الذي يجعلها تصلح أن تخرج على الشاشة، لأنها تقدم عبراً وطنية واجتماعية وسلوكية رفيعة المستوى، ونحن بأمس الحاجة إليها.
نجد في هذه الرواية صراعاً دائماً بين الخير والشر، بين أحاسيس الوطنية العالية المستوى وسقطات استغلال الفرص، بين نفوس تفيض بالعطاء، وأخرى تنضح خسة ودناءة.
