هذا تفسير يحتمل الصواب بالنسبة للمستشرقين، لكن ما بال الدراسين من الترك والعرب، وما السر وراء تجاهلهم للحياة العلمية ولافكرية عند العثمانيين؟ إننا نرجح أن يرجع ذلك الاعتقاد السائد بأن الأتراك العثمانيين، كانوا أمة حرب، لا يشق لها غبار في القتال والغزو، بينما حظها في العلم والفكر ضئيل.
