رواية تتحدثُ عن قصةِ حب بين شاب مولع بالأحلام والتواريخ والضفاف، وفتاةٍ هادلة بالشوق والحنين، في ريف مدينة الرقة السورية، ولإنغلاق هذا الريف يواجهُ العاشقان المصاعب، ويُسجن بطل الرواية ويتجاوزُ جدرانَ السجنِ ويصاحبُ الأزمنة، ويغوصُ في ماضٍ كانت فيه المنطقةُ يمامة من شدوٍ وخير وشذىّ، ويقارنُه بحاضرٍ مرهقٍ بسطوةٍ عادات وإهمالِ ولاة.
الرواية تدين الفساد، وإتساع الفوارق، فالفقيرُ محاصرٌ مغلوبٌ، والغنيُ حرٌ غالبٌ، لكن السكون لا يدوم، فيقع الأغنياء في واقعةٍ تجهر بصوت صارخ: إن كلَّ بنيان لا يقومُ على العدل نهايته الخراب.
وبالرغم من العوائق، فعشق الحبيبين يزداد، ويتلوّن بالطهرِ والوفاء.
الرواية رواية بيئة بإمتياز؛ فقد نهلتْ من بيئةِ الفرات الغنية.
وشكّلت بنية سردية تبعت خطاً درامياً ذروته نهاية مفتوحة، تترك للقارئ فرصة إتمامها!...
