احتوى هذا الكتاب على ثلاثة عشر فصلا تناول الأول منها اللغة العربية ووظيفتها ونشأتها وخصائصها وعوامل نموها وجاء الفصل الثاني المشكلات التي تعيق تطور اللغة العربية وخصص الفصل الثالث للأركان العلمية التعليمة والأسس العامة للتدريس، المنهج وطرق تدريس والمعلم أما الفصل الرابع فقد تناول التخطيط الدراسي للمنهج وتحضير الدروس اليومية وتم التركيز على أعداد الدروس بلأهداف السلوكية، أما الفصل الخامس فقد تناول المؤلف فية طرق تدريس القراءة والكتابة بأنزاعها الصامتة والجهرية والأستماع وخصص الفصل السادس لطرق تدريس الإملاء بأنواعه الأربعة ثم الفصل السابع وكان حول طرق تدريس التعبير أما الفصل الثامن فقد عرض فية طرق تدريس النحو المختلفة وخصص الفصل التاسع لطرق تدريس النصوص والأناشيد، ثم الفصل العاشر لطرق تدريس القصة والمسرحية وتناول الفصل الحادي عشر طرق تدريس الخط وتم التركيز في الفصل الثاني عشر على التقويم وأساليبة في اللغة العربية وأخيرا جاء الفصل الثالث عشر نماذج وأعداد الدروس بالطريقتين العرضية والعمودية بلغت ثمانية نماذج متنوعة.
