إذا كانت الكتابة الشعرية إجتراحاً لشغرات الخطاب اللغوي وتدوينه عند الشاعر، فإن "فضل خلف جبر" بدا في جديده "مدري يا هُو" أكثر اهتماماً بنقل الكتاب الشعرية من سريرتها الخطية التدوينية إلى وظيفة أخرى يؤديها الخيال تحقيقاً لشعرية النص. لذلك فهو معني بهذه الوظيفة، ليطرز بها كينونته كشاعر، يدمج الفعل بحدس اللحظة، فالشعر عند فضل جبر هو إثارة اصطياد اللحظات الحرجة، اللحظات التي ترتعش وسط خشونة الحاضر ورهبة الأماكن وربما الموت .. في (ركضة وادي السلام) يقول الشاعر: هذا يومكن، أيها الموتى الأحياء ! / ليس عليكم انتظار يوم القيامة / أقيموها أنتم اللحظة والآن / لم يعد الإنتظار حلاً بل مشكلة / الحل هو أنتم / أخرجوا بأكفانكم وروحانيتكم العابقة بالحق / مثنى ووحداناً وجماعاتٍ / أعلنوا قيامتكم من وادي السلام / إنه يومكم المقدس ..." بهذه الإلتقاطات يبني الشاعر يوتيوبياه الشعرية ضمن عناصر المفارقة والسخرية والنقد، الذي تتحول معه عبثية الواقع إلى شعر يُقرأ.
يضم الكتاب (21) نصاً نثرياً جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "طرقتك يا باب" ، "ركضة وادي السلام" ، "إلى من يهمه الأمر" ، "مسبحة عراقية" ، "دجلة والفرات" ، "البرلمان العراقي" ، "لو عاد الزمن إلى الوراء" ... ونصوص أخرى.
