يقول العبد الفقير إلى ألطاف ربه الغني، عبد القادر ابن الشيخ محمد السعيد التختي، لما كان قسم التهذيب من الكلام، الذي صنفه قدوة الأنام، العلامة الثاني، السعد التفتازاني، قدس سمره، مع رشاقته ووجازته، مشتملًا على عرائس أبكار لم يطمثهن إنس قبله ولا جان ونفائس أسرار لم ينكشف القناع عن جمال حقائقها إلى الآن، وإني كنت مشتغلًا به في برهة من لا يسعني مخالفته، ولايمكنني إلا موافقته، أن أشرحه شرحًا وافيًا بإبراز مكنونات أسراره، وكافيًا في هدي من يستضيء بأضواء أنواره، فشمرت عن ساق الجد مبادر إلى مقتضى إشارته ساعيًا في تبيين معانيه وتوضيح عبارته، مميطًا بأنامل الأفكار اللثام عن وجود خرائده، وكاشفًا ببنان البيان الأصداف عن فرائد فوائده، فجاء بحمد الله ذلك كذلك شرحًا شارحًا لكنوز خبيات فرائده، لا تحابه عن القناع وجوه مخدرات فوائده، خاليًا عن شوائب الخلل والنقصان، عاليًا عن أن يتطرق إليه قلم النسخ والبطلان، لئن أنكره الجهلة فسوف يذعن به الكملة، وإن رده المتعسفون، فسيقبله المنصفون، وإن كنت في ريب من المذكور، فانظر ثم إرجع البصر هل ترى من فطور.
