إنى ولله النعم التى لا تحصى لدى العد، والمنن التى لا يضبطها رسم فضلا عن حد، ممن دب من العلوم فى حجرها وارتضع أفاويق درها، والتقط من محيط بحرها يتيم درها، واقتطف من رياضها يانع زهرها واستضاء فى أفقها ببدورها وزهرها، قد ساومتها ببرد الشباب القشيب وصرمت لأجلها كل حبيب، صبا قلبى نحوها زمن الصبا فما غوى، وأتانى هواها قبل أن أعرف الهوى، سيما النحو الذى هو يتيمة قلادتها وأول جريدتها وبيت قصيدتها، فقد بذلت الجهد فى تحصيل مباحثه النفسية، واستخدمت فى صيد شوارده الأعضاء الرئيسة.
ولما فتح الله الكريم بما يسر تحصيله بفيض فضله العميم، ومنحنى بجواهر أبحاث أنفس من عقود الجواهر، وأحفنى بتحقيقات أبهج من رياض الأزاهر، أردت جمع ذلك خوفا عليه من الضياع وليعم الانتفاع، وألهمنى الله جل جلاله، وتنزهت عن الإحصاء آلاؤه، أن أطرز بتلك الفوائد وأرصع بتلك الفرائد شرح القطر للفاضل اللوذعى واللبيب الألمعى "عبد الله بن أحمد بن على الشهير بالفاكهى" ومن الله أستمد الصواب فى القول والعمل.
