في محاولة لإثراء البناء النقدي الليبي وتدعيمه بالجانب المنهجي.. يقدم الأستاذ "عبد الحكيم المالكي" هذا الكتاب مستخدما فيه نظريات السردية التى اقتصرت تجربتها على الروايات وتطبيقها في نقد القصص القصيرة على إختلاف أنواعها. وقد جاءالكتاب في ثلاثة فصول بينت ملامح هذه التجربة النقدية الجديدة، فجاء الفصل الول ليشرح مصطلحات ومفاهيم المنهج المستخدم في نقد الروايات، ثم الفصل الثاني الذي يبين كيفية التطبيق على القصة التى إنقسمت إلى خمسة أنواع شرحها في نفس الفصل.. وأخيرا الفصل الثالث الذي قدم نماذج لتطبيق هذه ا لتجربة على عدة نصوص لبعض الكتاب الليبين مثل " عوض الشاعرى" وقصته " عروس البحر" ، "محمد الأصفر" مع قصته "فواق بنكهة النعناع" و "الغريق" وغيرها من القراءات التى حواها الفصل الثالث.
